It was first published in the United States by **Dodd, Mead and Company** in **1952** under the title **"Murder with Mirrors"**, and in the United Kingdom by the **Collins Crime Club** on **November 17** of the same year, using Christie's original title[^1^].<!--nl--><!--nl-->The novel features the brilliant detective **Miss Marple** as she embarks on an intriguing investigation. Here's a brief synopsis:<!--nl--><!--nl-->- **Setting**: Miss Marple visits her American school friend, **Ruth Van Rydock**, in London. Ruth expresses serious concern for her sister, **Carrie Louise**, and asks Miss Marple to visit Carrie Louise at her English home, **Stonygates**.<!--nl-->- **Stonygates**: The Victorian mansion is now home to Carrie Louise, her third husband **Lewis Serrocold**, and various family members. Carrie Louise's granddaughter, **Gina**, has brought her American husband, **Walter**, to England to meet the family. Daughter **Mildred Strete** has returned home after being widowed, and stepsons **Stephen** and **Alexis Restarick** are frequent visitors.<!--nl-->- **Unsettling Visitors**: During Miss Marple's visit, an unexpected guest arrives—**Christian Gulbrandsen**, Carrie Louise's stepson from her first marriage. Christian is a trustee of a charitable foundation established by his wealthy father. Miss Marple observes Christian's interactions with Lewis Serrocold and senses an air of secrecy.<!--nl--><!--nl-->- **Paranoia and Health Issues**: Miss Marple notices **Edgar Lawson**, Serrocold's secretary, who exhibits signs of paranoid schizophrenia. Despite this, his condition is largely overlooked. Carrie Louise herself faces health problems due to old age.<!--nl-->- **Mystery Unfolds**: As Miss Marple delves deeper, she discovers hidden motives, near-death accidents, and a web of secrets. The plot thickens, and the stakes rise as she tries to unravel the truth behind the mirrors and the mysteries at Stonygates.<!--nl--><!--nl-->While some reviewers praised the essence of the plot, others felt that the latter half of the novel moved too slowly. Regardless, "Murder With Mirrors" remains a classic Agatha Christie mystery that keeps readers guessing until the very end[^1^].<!--nl--><!--nl-->If you're interested, there's also a 1985 TV movie adaptation titled **"Agatha Christie's Murder With Mirrors"**, featuring legendary actresses **Bette Davis** and **Helen Hayes**[^2^] [^3^]. 🕵️♀️🔍" tabindex="0">

¿Estás listo para un viaje a través de los Estados Unidos?
