Jerry Todd's Poodle Parlor is the 15th book in the Jerry Todd series — a summer-vacation adventure for young readers set in the fictional town of Tutter, Illinois.
The story follows Jerry Todd and his friends (Red Meyers, Scoop Ellery, and Peg Shaw) on their summer holidays. Much of the action revolves around the Woodlawn Bay Hotel and the old Windmere House, which stood side by side on the south bank of the river, each surrounded by about fifty acres of forested land. The new hotel, with its modern amenities, had put the old one out of business, and after many years of idleness the old hotel was demolished and its lumber and equipment sold.
A secondary thread involves Flora Beesaddle, who fixes up farm cabins for eccentric wealthy pet lovers on vacation — tying into the "poodle parlor" theme. The book is a lighthearted boyhood adventure in the same fun-mystery-adventure vein as the rest of the series, illustrated by Bert Salg and originally published by Grosset & Dunlap
