Airport '77 is a novel written by Michael Scheff and David Spector, based upon their screenplay for the movie of the same name. The movie was inspired by Arthur Hailey's book Airport.
The plot revolves around an action-packed drama: art thieves hijack a 747 airplane, encounter fog, and crash into the ocean, leaving them and the passengers trapped under one hundred feet of water.
