Across the Bridge focuses attention on Spanish America and seeks to appraise the status and prospects of Southern Baptist foreign mission effort there after eighty years. The method of approach is to look at Spanish America in general in Chapter one. Subsequent chapters examine regions within Spanish America. The countries are grouped together somewhat arbitrarily, althought they usually are linked by ties of geography, history, or other considerations. The Epilogue looks ahead to the "Next Eight Decades".
