Rad suggests to Optimus Prime that he, Carlos, and Alexis explore the caves near the Autobot base in the hopes of potentially finding any other Mini-Con crystals that might still be near the ship. The trio find one of the few caves that Rad and Carlos had not yet already cleared, and sure enough find a crystal in the back of it.
Before they have a chance to leave, the Decepticons launch an attack. The battle causes a landslide that threatens to bury the kids, only for Hot Shot to save the day by putting himself in harm's way for their sake. Not only do the kids survive, they succeed in hanging onto the crystal.
