Wisdom is the right use of knowledge, making right decisions, understanding trends,tendencies,and propensities,so that, by wisdom's power, we are delivered from the way of evil men.When Solomon says, "My son, if thou wilt receive my words...", he is saying that his son has a choice and we also have a choice. We can follow God's directions and have a happy, successful, peaceable life, or we can live a life without conscious development and suffer the resulting conflict.
The object of this book is not so much exegetical excellence as practical applications.
